HARRADINE David (also known as Mike) aged 78, Master Mariner, husband of Mary for 54 years, father of six, grandfather of ten and great-grandfather of two. Died peacefully in Treliske Hospital, Truro on Tuesday, 21st October 2008 (Trafalgar Day). Resident in Hertford for many years, David attended Hertford Grammar School before joining the Merchant Navy as a boy cadet in 1946. Initially he joined the British India Steam Navigation Company and subsequently P & O and OCL. David also gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve. In 1964 David moved his young family to Cornwall, settling first in Truro and latterly in Falmouth. His funeral will take place at 2pm, tomorrow, Thursday 30th October, at Penmount Crematorium, Trelawny Chapel. Donations, in his memory, may be made to the Gurkha Welfare Trust, c/o Funeral Directors, T. Cooke, 4, Quarry Hill, Falmouth TR11 2BP.
