Miss Peapods in Penryn has cemented its reputation with a gold award from Taste of the West Cornish Tourism Awards for the best café.

Competition was stiff with hundreds of entries from across the county.

Judges were looking for quality, consistency and a special ambience that sets the winners apart. With strong commitment to local producers, Miss Peapods saw them all off, romping home with the top prize.

The judges said the café was: “…the perfect place to chill out as a family…sitting on comfy sofas enjoying great food and drinks.

The location is fantastic, it gives that quirky city feel by the river….they also have a big impact on the live music scene.

That’s what I call a café”

The proprietor and creator of Miss Peapods, Alice Marston, said: ‘’We have really focussed on quality and consistency this year, as we know most of our business is repeat custom and we really value that support. We have built on that reputation, which has rewarded us with our best year’s trading to date.

“This award really acknowledges that collective graft from my team, so we are all just delighted!”
