A father and son from Penryn, have joined forces to bring a new carpet business to Cornwall.

Peter and Matt Williams will open the Carpet Shed, in Penryn on Good Friday.

Opening their doors to the public and trade, there will be competitions and giveaways in store with a huge stock of colourful and fresh ideas for the budding interior designers amongst us.

Their objective is to offer affordable prices with good quality carpets starting from £2.79 per square metre. Some traditional lines will also be stocked including Georgian carpets as recently seen in House Beautiful magazine.

Peter Williams said: “We understand buying flooring is a big investment for anyone on tighter household budgets and even re-carpeting a child’s bedroom can seem an unaffordable luxury, but we hope to have something to suit everyone’s pocket and have it available to take away on the day.

“Our aim is to offer great prices to our customers and share our 50 years knowledge on what not only looks good but will also last. We are here to listen to customers, and work with them. We are particularly keen to hear their ideas on what they would like us to stocked in their local store.

The trade counter will be open from 8am each morning to local tradesman but also a phone through service to make sure their order is ready for quick collection. Customers can also view from 8am but non-trade sales start at 10am.”

The Carpet Shed is initially generating four new jobs, but hopes to offer more in the future.

The company is looking for local support to build awareness of the business and pass on savings to customers right on their doorstep.
