A super day out for Cockwells Following several months of bespoke boat building the staff at Cockwells got a chance to sit back and enjoy their new creation.

The latest launch from the Mylor Creek Boatyard is a 9.5m superyacht tender which is destined to go on-board a 73 metre yacht called ‘Grace E’, currently being built by Perini Navi in Italy.

While undergoing sea trials in the Carrack Roads around Falmouth last week, the Cockwells team were joined by the Captain and Chief Engineer from 'Grace E' who were delighted with the outstanding performance & build quality.

“The tender is everything that we had planned for in the initial design and concept phase, great accommodation for 12 guests and exceptional performance from the twin Yanmar / Hamilton package. We think she will be great tender, versatile as a guest transporter and also a practical sport boat” – Captain Eddie Cooney, 73metre ‘Grace E’ The amazing power comes courtesy of 630hp from two Yanmar engines which, on test, propelled us to an impressive top speed of more than 40knots. For slower handling a joystick control allows for precise manoeuvring in the tightest of spaces. Perfect for berthing in crowded marinas.

The cockpit offers a sociable space for 12 guests and 2 crew. The high back seating located all-round the cockpit means guests can sit safely in comfort and remain dry at high speeds.

The tender has been finished to the high standards Cockwells are now famous for. We believe we have created something special for the bespoke tender market.

Cockwells boat yard is now set for the International stage later this year when they attend the Monaco yacht show in September. On their stand (TS8) will be the 9.5 metre tender attracting the attention of super yachts captains and owners alike. Meanwhile another 9.5m tender that is currently in build at the yard will be used to chauffer VIPs around the event including the RED ARROW pilots after their air display over the event on Thursday 27th September.
