Consumer brand agency Wild Card has been appointed by Pendennis Shipyard to work alongside its internal PR team to expand the company’s media reach outside of the superyacht sector.

The appointment by Pendennis, one of the world’s leading custom superyacht build and refit businesses, complements the agency’s existing travel and leisure portfolio and comes just weeks after securing the brief for luxury hotel in the Isles of Scilly, Hell Bay.

Founded in 1988, Pendennis boasts an international reputation. As well as being the only British superyacht business to focus on both custom new build and refit projects, it also has a refit facility in Palma, a support base in Auckland and employs 360 people.

The account will be managed by Wild Card’s “Wild West” office in Truro and will focus on promoting Pendennis’ recent facilities expansion and first-class service, leveraging its international reputation for its skilled workforce and British craftsmanship.

Georgie Upton, divisional director of Wild Card’s Cornwall office, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for Wild Card and we’re privileged to be working alongside such a prestigious and successful business. We’re look forward to taking Pendennis’ reputation to the next level.”

Wild Card is a consumer brand PR agency with offices in London and Truro. Other clients include Laurent Perrier, The Nare Hotel, Tresco Island, Joseph Joseph, Merchants Manor, Gin Mare and the Eden Project.
