With the Falmouth Classics yachting event taking place in less than six months time, the countdown has truly begun.

This year’s event is set to be even bigger and better and has its very first title sponsor: Tilley Endurables, the UK and Europe distributor of Tilley Hats, which originate from Canada. Tilley Hats were originally designed for sailing, but being smart, durable and water repellent, they have become popular with anyone enjoying the outdoors.

Falmouth Classics, which will be known as the Falmouth Classics 2016 Sponsored By Tilley Endurables, has grown from year to year and now coincides with the International Sea Shanty Festival over a period of three days, from June 17 to 19.

There is a real emphasis on building the event to become more internationally renowned with several classic boats expected to take part from mainland Europe.

Henry Roberts, chairman of the Falmouth Classics Association, said: “We are thrilled to have Tilley Endurables as our very first title sponsor and are counting down the days to the event itself now. Several participants have already entered their boats online by using the simple online entry system on the website which is great to see.”

Maddie Clark, general manager for UK and Europe at Tilley Endurables, said: “Being the title sponsor is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our business and we are very proud to be a part of such a popular community event.”

Partner sponsor and advertising opportunities are still available for this event, giving a chance for local businesses to contribute to Falmouth Classics. Any money raised will be re-invested in order to improve the event for future years.
