The New Year celebrations are still going strong in the offices of a Penryn-based marketing agency after the end of year figures were finalised.

In 2015 Piece of Cake Communications saw its turnover increase by 110 per cent, following a hugely s successful 12 months of business. This time last year the company embarked on a rebrand, which owners, Sam White and Suzie Smith, feel kick-started their massive growth.

“It was a hectic, busy and importantly, fun 2015, which saw us bring on major new clients such as Cornwall Farmers, Concorde Recruitment and an international endurance athlete," said Suzie. "Our aim now is to continue to build on what we’ve achieved as we’ve got major aspirations for 2016.”

This year Piece of Cake will be turning its attention to helping businesses with their strategic marketing plans and development.

Suzie is Cornwall’s only qualified teacher delivering the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) professional qualifications to marketers in the county. Marketing managers and directors learn in depth techniques over the course of a year how to strategically manage their business growth.

Meanwhile, Sam is a coach on the business entrepreneurship degree at Falmouth University, so the pair plan to combine these teaching skills with their own marketing agency experience to offer a bespoke service to businesses in the South West.

“We’ve a wealth of experience in guiding managers and directors through the process of overhauling and refreshing their marketing strategies, so it made sense to offer this bespoke service to a wider clientele this year,” added Suzie.

Much of the company’s expansion was in the area of social media management, but also in new areas such as search engine marketing.
