The deadline for entering this year's Cornwall Business Awards is fast approaching, with only a few days left to compete for one of these prestigious awards.

Now in their 11th year, the awards have become established as the most high profile business awards scheme in the county. Around 350 leaders from Cornwall’s top businesses are expected to attend the awards dinner at St Mellion International on May 12. Famous entrepreneur and inventor Levi Roots, of Reggae Reggae Sauce fame, will be the celebrity speaker at the event.

“These awards are a fabulous celebration of the very best businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This year, once again, we have been really impressed with the outstanding quality of the entries we have received,” said Arthur Hooper, group managing director of Cornwall Development Company, who organise the event.

Among the panel of judges are leading business writer, Colin Barrow; former MD of The Body Shop, Barbara Sharples, and co-founder of the Eden Project, Sir Tim Smit.

Any business based in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly can enter one or more of 14 award categories, which include best new business and best family business. There are two new award categories this year – manufacturer of the year and sustainable business of the year.

The closing date for entries is March 13 and the should be made online at cornwallbusinessawards.co.uk.
