Coastline Housing, which has developments in the Falmouth and Helston areas, has been judged by its employees as a great company to work for.

It has also marked its highest ever score from Best Companies, the employee engagement specialists, by taking part in the first National Best Companies Day.

Coastline is now at number 75 on The Sunday Times Top 100 not-for-profit organisations list, making it the highest placed social landlord to work for in the region, and one of the best companies in its sector nationally.

Coastline also received a respected one star accreditation by achieving a high score on Best Companies’ staff engagement survey. That survey examined the ins-and-outs of company life to reveal how employees really perceive their work environment.

As part of the nationwide day of workplace festivities Coastline staff held a special celebration lunch break featuring the best of Cornwall - the pasty. They also took part in a dress down day to raise money for their charity of the year, Cornwall Hospice Care.

Coastline’s board and group chair, Derek Law, said: “As this is a company focused on people, the board has two chief measures of success - feedback from our customers and feedback from our staff. For colleagues to give Coastline such a high score for workplace satisfaction is very rewarding.”

Coastline Housing’s chief executive, Allister Young, added: “Coastline staff have once again rated this company as one of the best to work for, which is excellent news. Our management team puts a lot of effort into ensuring great people want to work here so we can continue to offer great homes and services to our customers. It is also very satisfying to be able to provide high quality jobs which really help the Cornish economy.”

The Best Companies lists are derived from surveys within organisations across the country, interviews with their employees, plus evaluation of key statistics, processes and policies.
