A series of free digital marketing workshops have been co-ordinated by the Falmouth BID and made available to BID businesses, which area all part of the ongoing business upskilling and support programme undertaken over the past five years.

Working in partnership with Falmouth-based marketing agency Eight Wire, who will facilitate the training, the three free sessions in May and June will give businesses the chance to develop and further enhance their online offering to customers.

BID manager, Richard Wilcox, said, “Our business upskilling programme has been a really important strand of the work undertaken over the past few years. High streets and retail centres are constantly changing, consumer shopping habits have shifted significantly and so it is vital that we as a town and business community are not only cognisant of that but proactively engage with customers where they want us to be. That means online as well as having a physical presence on a high street. I’m delighted that Eight Wire have kindly offered their expertise and time free of charge in helping to roll out these great training opportunities to further support BID businesses.”

Adam Rush, digital marketing specialist at Eight Wire, added: “It is fantastic to see the broad range of products and services on offer in the area and it’s our pleasure provide workshops for local businesses. The sessions will allow attendees to realise the opportunities available online, providing actionable steps to reach new audiences and to deeper engage existing customers, using a variety of digital tools and marketing methods.”

Session one, on May 18, is titled "Being Found Online (even if you don’t have a website)" while session two on May 25, will focus on making social media work for small businesses. Session three will consider the reasons and options to sell online and will take place on June 1.

The digital workshops are free to all Falmouth BID businesses and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each session will last around 90 minutes. Find out more at 8wire.co.uk. The sessions all start at 6pm in the Falmouth Town Council chambers on The Moor. Businesses can book a place by calling Eight Wire on 376880 or by email on info@8wire.co.uk.
