Three friends have just launched Falmouth's newest bar, The Chintz Symposium, but it is a bar with a difference.
The brains behind the new venture are Ciska Earle, Kirran Bruce and Duncan Bruce, who are hoping their new premises in the Old Brewery Yard off High Street proves a big hit with customers.
"We are three friends, all born and bred in Cornwall, who have decided to start our own business venture down in Falmouth," said Ciska. "We have largely been inspired by literature and art for the look of the bar with a lot of inspiration coming from our favourite childhood book Alice In Wonderland. As a result the bar is full of hidden surprises including a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf, toilets themed like a circus tent and the Jurassic era and a treasure hunt which is hidden around the bar.
"Our aim for the bar is to be more of a cultural arts centre and not just a bar and as a result we are going to be hosting a range of different nights, starting with our stand up comedy night on the 28th (May) when we have four award winning comedians coming down from London."
