Mawnan boys Andy Grant and Kent Paget have come up with an ingenious idea....float through tackle.

They pair have transformed the Cornish Day Sailing booking hut on North Quay in Falmouth into what could be Cornwall's smallest, and most convenient fishing tackle and bait shop. Right on the water's edge, customers are encouraged to "ring the bell" to gain service for all their tackle and bait needs.

"No longer do our customers need to come ashore to shop," said Andy Grant, owner of Cornish Day Sailing. "They can float right up to the harbour wall (tide allowing) and have their fishing tackle and bait lowered down to them."

Stocking a selection of tackle, rods and reels, the hut also specialises in a large selection of frozen baits and live rag worms.

"We try to keep a constant stock of top quality hand-dug live rag," added Kent Paget, "but as we like to keep them as fresh as possible we can run out at times. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always willing to take pre-orders for bait to make sure customers are not disappointed."
