Visit Cornwall CIC has appointed two new directors, Zoe Curnow from the Minack Theatre, and Julie Towers from Francis Clark, to join its existing board.

Zoë grew up in Cornwall and first worked at the Minack Theatre as a student. After a successful few years working at senior management and chief executive positions in theatres in the south east, she returned to Cornwall nine years ago to manage the Minack Theatre. Zoë is also an executive committee member of the Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions, a member of the Porthcurno Coastal Community Team, chairman of her local nursery and works as a double bass player and teacher in her spare time.

Julie Towers, VAT partner at PKF Francis Clark, also grew up in Cornwall and trained as a chartered accountant before moving away. She now splits her time between Truro and Exeter and is responsible for all areas of VAT within the firm. Julie joined PKF Francis Clark in 2006 as a VAT consultant, before becoming the firm’s first VAT partner in 2011. Prior to joining PKF Francis Clark, she was director of VAT services for a medium sized firm of accountants in Oxfordshire and UK VAT manager for Siemens plc. Outside of work, Julie is a governor at her local primary school and spends much of her spare time running on the Cornish coast.

Malcolm Bell, chief executive of Visit Cornwall, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Zoë and Julie to Visit Cornwall CIC and add their extensive knowledge to our existing well-rounded board of directors.

"Zoë brings with her an in-depth knowledge of Cornwall’s tourism and cultural landscape, along with an abundance of marketing know-how. Julie’s expert financial acumen and in-depth VAT knowledge will deepen the financial proficiency of the board. Zoë and Julie’s contribution will be invaluable, and we are looking forward to their contribution as we build Visit Cornwall CIC.”

Zoë and Julie join the existing founding Visit Cornwall CIC board comprising of Lord St Levan, chair; Malcolm Bell, Gordon Seabright of the Eden Project, Nigel Carpenter owner of St Michael’s Hotel and Spa, Tim Light of Fal River, Will Ashworth of Watergate Bay and Cllr Julian German, who is an observer to the board.
