The team at McCarthy and Stone’s upcoming Falmouth development, Trelawny House, recently donned pink wigs to show their support for local cancer charity Pink Wig Events.

The local retirement housebuilder donated £1,000 to help fund the charity’s fantastic work as part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the local community.

Pink Wig Events fundraises in support of the breast care team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, and Breast Cancer Now. The money raised at the events goes towards paying for vital equipment, research into earlier diagnosis, and better treatments for breast cancer.

Emma Kent of Pink Wig Events said: “Donations of this kind are extremely important to us. The amazing support we receive from local people, and businesses in the area, such as McCarthy and Stone, means that we can continue to paint the town pink, and stand up to cancer.”

Debby Pavitt, regional sales and marketing director at McCarthy and Stone South West, added: “As a company, we appreciate that our responsibility is not only to build quality, purpose-built retirement properties, but also to create a positive legacy in the communities in which we build. Pink Wig Events is a wonderful organisation working hard to tackle an issue which is close to the hearts of so many people, and we were delighted to be able to donate to such a worthy cause.”

Expecting to welcome its first homeowners this month, Trelawny House is already nearly 70 per cent sold. The attractive development comprises of 44 spacious one and two bedroom retirement living apartments for the over 55s, and will offer homeowners an independent lifestyle combined with the peace of mind provided by the carefully considered details designed to make your retirement even more enjoyable in a comfortable, hassle-free environment.

Homeowners at Trelawny House will be able to relax in the homeowners’ lounge, soak up the sun in the landscaped gardens, and, should they have guests to stay, welcome them to the development’s convenient guest suite. The development also benefits from its own house manager, who ensures the smooth running of the development, a security entrance system, plus 24-hour emergency call points for added peace of mind for both homeowners and their families.
