A new Co-op food store in Illogan was officially opened on Friday by Co-op colleagues John Dunne and Paul Bray.

The new store on Higher Broad Lane has an in-store bakery and a focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas, hot food and essentials. It will open between 7am and 10pm, seven days a week, offer an ATM, and will be amongst the first stores in the region to feature the Co-op’s iconic new blue clover-leaf branding.

Danny Kitchener, manager of the new food store, said: “The Co-op is committed to transforming and growing its convenience business and we are delighted to be making such a significant investment in Illogan – the new store looks great and it really is an exciting time for the whole team.

“As a community retailer, and a co-operative, our aim is to establish the store as a community hub, playing a real part in local life and delivering a compelling and convenient shopping experience locally.”

The Co-op will appoint a Community Pioneer, a member of the store team who will also work to foster involvement in community activities, such as local fundraising initiatives and working with charities, schools and voluntary organisations to contribute to local life.
