An new store is set to open in Helston this weekend offering computer repairs, sales and accessories.

Primary PC is a new retail outlet opened by local IT professionals Nigel Buxton and Phil Williams, following the success of their existing commercially focused business in the town. The new shop is located at St Johns Business Park on the Helston to Penzance Road and aims to offer a wide range of computer-related products and services in a convenient location.

Nigel said: “We decided to open the new store to cope with the huge demand for sales and repairs at our commercial premises on the Water-Ma-Trout Industrial Estate. Customers will be able to browse a range of laptops, computers and accessories and receive friendly advice from our team.

“The exciting new shop will focus on home users while our other outlet will continue to focus on our business customers. After the closure of two other computer shops in Helston this year, we feel there is shortfall for customers looking for sales, upgrades and repairs, so we’re hoping to fill that gap.”

The company was originally established in 2002 inside the basement at Phil's home in Porthleven. In 2007 the business expanded to a new unit in Helston and the duo now employ eight members of staff.

Phil said: “We have got a broad range of computer experience between us and our team can offer expert advice on any issues. Our customers know that if something goes wrong we can have one of our engineers there quickly to assess and make a repair.”

In addition to sales and repairs, the company also provide IT support for Truro Cathedral, celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw and the St Enodoc Hotel in Rock. The company also install telephone and CCTV systems for pubs, restaurants, offices and residential homes.

“We pride ourselves on our friendly and straight-talking approach without confusing customers with technical jargon,” said Nigel. “Our approach is to make IT simple to understand while offering great products and service for a reasonable price. We hope we can continue to be an asset to the community and look forward to welcoming customers, old and new, through our doors.”

The store’s grand opening will be on Saturday, October 29.
