The Natural Store, one of Falmouth’s oldest independent health food stores, has relocated its Falmouth operation to larger premises on Market Strand, closer to the town’s prime pedestrianised retail pitch.

The business, which also has stores in Helston and St Austell, has spread its wings to the 2,744 sq ft mid-terraced property previously occupied by the British Heart Foundation.

Owner Paul Johnson, said: “After celebrating our 20th anniversary this July, outliving many shops that opened in Falmouth during the late 90s, we felt the next step for us as a business and a team was to move to larger premises to cater for our growing customer base.”

The Natural Store has been based in a tertiary retail position on Falmouth’s High Street since 1996, taking over the business which began as The Granary in the late 1970s. In 2006 it expanded by taking the adjacent property to increase its range of wholefoods, body care and supplements.

The move to Market Strand offers the business a more prominent position within the town, with higher visibility and footfall and the opportunity to open a new café on the upper floors. The Natural Store are also delighted to announce that they are increasing their organic food range and going above and beyond customer expectations with good food and drink.

Ron Kneebone, shop manager, said: “As we enter a new era, the benefits from relocating will be seen right across the business. Customers will benefit not just in terms of space to shop, as both stores are now under one roof; but also from increased capacity to stock more product lines. We want to continue to help people living in Falmouth, or anyone visiting to make good, informed choices about what they are eating and where that food comes from.”

The shop is open for business and includes a juice/deli bar and by the end of January will also include a brand-new café.
