A self-confessed former sugar addict from the Helston area has launched her own range of sweet treats which are ideal for dieters and diabetics as they are sugar free.

Natasha Mossayebi said: "Over a year ago I realised I had a huge sugar addiction so I decided to quit the white stuff forever. This then lead me to to realise there's next to no sugar free healthy food options out there available to people who are looking for a sugar free treat (without those nasty chemical sweeteners) so I decided to make my own.

"After extensive research on sweeteners I found that Xylitol was my best option. With my love for healthy baking and a huge gap in the market I decided to turn my passion into a business - My Health."

Since last September Natasha has been running the business from her home near Helston and bakes sugar free cakes, chocolates, muffins etc which are also suitable for diabetics. She also offers gluten free and vegan options too, all of which are sugar free and suitable for diabetics.

"I use a natural sweetener in my products called Xylitol which is completely safe for diabetics as it doesn’t spike the blood sugar level, unlike other nasty chemical sweeteners," she said. "Where possible I try to always use all local produce including local free range eggs and fruit from my local farmer.

"I have been trading at Camborne produce market every Friday selling my sugar free goods and I soon became aware that there are a lot of diabetics in Cornwall and all of them struggle to find sugar free healthy treats. I feel by offering these products, it will help diabetics steer clear of sugar and in turn, help them on the road to recovery. It can also prevent further people being diagnosed with diabetes as more people are looking to quit sugar and are buying my sugar free products as part of a healthy lifestyle."
