Camborne-based INRstar's pilot with the Isle of Wight (IOW) Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for patient self-testing, has been chosen as a Healthcare Pioneer 2017 by the AF Association (Atrial Fibrillation Association).

The project will be featured in its soon to be launched Healthcare Pioneers 2017 booklet. IOW CCG and INRstar were recognised as Healthcare Pioneers for demonstrating best practice in delivering self-care for AF which saw the first CCG in England launch an automated self-care service for anticoagulation management. The pilot is transforming how patients on long-term anticoagulation medication (warfarin) are monitored.

INRstar, part of LumiraDx Care Solutions, is the home of the UK’s leading software for anticoagulation management. Used in over 3,500 locations across the UK, the company supports clinicians to manage patients on anticoagulation therapy and is now taking great strides towards enabling supported self-care for these patients.

Clare Gardner, marketing manager at INRstar, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for our part in the fantastic project that has been run at IOW CCG and we look forward to seeing the coverage in the Healthcare Pioneers 2017 booklet.”

Trudie Lobban, founder and CEO of the AF Association, added: “Nominations for the Healthcare Pioneers 2017 were of such a high standard and we are delighted that the Isle of Wight CCG and INRstar were chosen as one of the winners. This demonstrates good practice and will hopefully be adopted by others to improve patient outcomes.”
