After closing its doors on New Year’s Day in preparation for a brand-new look, the Marine Bar and Restaurant in Falmouth has embarked on an exciting voyage.

The business is under new ownership for the first time in 27 years, with Toby Skailes, owner of Castaways restaurant in Mylor, how at the helm. Situated in the Falmouth Marina, the restaurant and bar has been treated to a fresh, modern look which is a nod to the nautical settings it is surrounded by.

The UpperDeck kitchen continues to be led by Donna Snowden, who was head chef at the former Marine Bar for seven years, creating food which has proved popular with both locals and visitors alike. The re-launch has given her the chance to explore new menu ideas while keeping the same homemade feel that regulars keep returning for.

Toby said: “Cornwall and particularly Falmouth, has a great foodie vibe. We’re surrounded by water and we should celebrate that by offering fresh seafood. We’ve chosen the Queen’s butcher’s, Aubrey Allen to supply the very best quality steaks and have plenty of options for vegetarians too, we really do have something for everyone.”
