The newly refurbished Lamb and Flag in Hayle have celebrated the completion of the pub's £95,000 redevelopment, with a visit from local MP Derek Thomas.

Located on the A30 in Canon's Town, Hayle, the Lamb and Flag has been fully refurbished after receiving investment from national pub company Punch.

The overall appearance has been improved to attract new passing customers, and the pub is now a welcoming environment for the local community.

Ran by Karen and David Crump, the pub will now offer a rotating food menu, which will change daily and include local and fresh produce from head chef Daniel Crump.

Inside the family run business the bar and dining area has new furniture, lighting and has been fully redecorated.

The toilets have also been upgraded, and outside the pub has new signage, lighting and refurbished furniture.

Karen and David Crump, who have ran the Lamb and Flag since 2016, said in a statement: "The pub looks great and we are delighted with the refurbishment.

"We’re really excited for the future of the Lamb and Flag, we are already planning to serve breakfasts as of Easter and then we are going to look at creating an area for campers, motor homes and a Crazy Golf area for children.

“We lived in St Ives between 1995 and 2005 so we know the pub quite well.

"We always found it to be a friendly and welcoming environment and we will ensure that every customer receives the very best service”.

Derek Thomas, MP for St. Ives, said: “It was great to see the Lamb and Flag first-hand following the recent transformation.

"It will be a great place for the local community, sea-side tourists and holiday makers to enjoy and I wish Karen, David and their team the best of luck in the future”.

Jenna Lake, commenting on behalf of Punch, said: "We have worked hard to rejuvenate the Lamb and Flag to be the best it can be.

"It is situated just outside the beautiful coastal town of Hayle, which is prime location for holiday makers and sea-side lovers.

“Karen has a wealth of experience in the catering industry and they have both run a successful community pub in Wakefield over the last two years.

"I am looking forward to supporting them throughout their journey as publicans of the Lamb and Flag and wish them the very best of luck”.
