More than 300 jobs are to be supported in Falmouth, bringing a significant economic boost to the local area thanks to plans for a new development, Union Park, which is due to launch this spring.

The housebuilder says new roles for the development - including tradespeople and subcontractors - will be filled mostly by local people.

Sales director Sara Parker said: “We know that those who move to our developments are likely to spend the money they earn in local shops and on nearby services, so it’s not only the jobs market here that will see the positive effects of these new homes.”

In addition to the jobs and the 104 new homes planned for Falmouth, Barratt is set to provide the local community with a massive boost with contributions towards improving ecology and local highways.

“We’re delighted the introduction of our new development will have such a positive impact on the local community here,” added Sara. “Not only does it mean an increase in the number of much-needed homes, the local economy is benefitting too.”

The first of the one, two, three and four bedroom homes will be launched in the spring and Sara said that Barratt was delighted to be launching its first development in Falmouth. “We have been looking for a suitable location in Falmouth for some time and we are really looking forward to being part of the local community.”
