Flourishing Cornish retailer Whistlefish is taking its brand of art-inspired products to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with a stand spotlighting its new limited edition collection for the event, which has just been launched online.

This will be the company’s tenth appearance at the show and, having previously picked up a string of awards for the outstanding presentation of its stand, it will be drawing the crowds again with a live art event and visits from Prince’s Trust celebrity ambassadors.

Artist Lyn Thompson started the business 21-years-ago with a loan from the Prince’s Trust, and today the greeting cards, art, gifts and stationery company has ten galleries across Cornwall and Devon, including one in Falmouth.

The company’s Chelsea Flower Show 2017 collection includes tote bags, tea towels, aprons, greeting cards and notebooks featuring the work of artist Jess Trotman. Her floral art for the range captures the beauty and romance of cottage garden favourites such as delphiniums, hydrangeas, larkspur, poppies and verbascum. The limited edition collection is only available on the Chelsea Flower Show stand or from the Whistlefish website.

Also at the show, artist and filmmaker Will Thompson will be painting a portrait of The Queen, the Patron of the RHS, live on the Whistlefish stand and creating a time-lapse video of the process. The portrait will be auctioned off at the end of the event to raise funds for the Prince’s Trust.

Lyn Thompson, owner of Whistlefish, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be appearing at Chelsea Flower Show for the tenth time. Every year, we put a huge amount of effort into the presentation of our stand, and it’s all so worth it, especially when we come away with a prestigious award. The event is a real highlight of the year for us, with guests such as Dame Judi Dench paying us a visit in the past. Our 2017 limited edition collection is gorgeous and I hope it proves popular with flower enthusiasts at the show and online.”
