Great score in four ball
John and Paul Murrish won the four ball better ball at Praa Sands on Sunday with an outstanding 51 nett, writes Simon Edwards. Mike Hatch and Steve Strick were second with 58 nett and Ken McIlroy and Dave Rollason third with 59 nett on the last nine holes from Chris Bowden and Tony Semmens.
Anna Harry won the Ladies' Jubilee Rose Bowl (bogey-plus) on Saturday with +1. Jackie Quick was second with -1, Phyllis Williams third with -5 and Judy Harris fourth with -6 on the last nine holes from Connie May.
Andy Hurrell won Good Friday's nine-hole cross country with 18 points on the last three holes from Simon Phillips. Steve Strick was third with 17 points.
Chris Tonkin won the ladies' nine hole Stableford on Wednesday with 15 points. Phyllis Williams was second with 14 and Ann Seabrook third with 13 on countback from Connie May and Jennifer Chambers. Caz Hardman won the putting competition.
Round one of the Pilcher Trophy (Stableford) is on Friday, the Praa Sands Goblets mixed foursomes (medal - regular partners) takes place on Saturday afternoon and the men play a Captain v Vice-Captain (match play) on Sunday morning.
Next week there is a Stableford for all playing members; the ladies play a nine-hole Stableford on Wednesday morning while the Ogres meet on Wednesday afternoon.
The club AGM takes place on Wednesday, April 2, at 8 p.m. It is hoped that everyone will make the effort to attend.
