The Lady of Avenel, which takes her name from a Walter Scott novel, is a 26m Brigantine square rigger sailing under the Dutch flag.
Built in Poland in 1969 as a motor ship, she was converted into a sailing vessel in 1991.
The smallest of the Class A ships at the regatta, she can accommodate 12 people plus three crew.
