'Valiant effort' can't keep cruise ship on time
Despite a valiant effort by the ship’s master to maintain his ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) the cruise ship Funchal missed the tide on Sunday morning by a few hours resulting in a six-hour delay before she could berth at the docks.
Funchal encountered rough weather in the Channel when gale force westerly winds slowed the ship down as she was returning from a cruise to Norway.
