Two container loads of foodstuffs, toiletries, toys, clothes and sports equipment will be enroute to Ebola stricken Sierra Leone next week aboard Beltship’s bulker Gypsum Centennial, thanks to the sterling efforts and generosity of people across Cornwall.

Penny Phillips, executive personal assistant to A&P Falmouth managing director Peter Child, has been one of the prime movers co-ordinating the appeal for the All as One Orphanage in Freetown.

Penny said: “We could not have anticipated the outpouring of generosity which met our call for donations for the All as One Orphanage.

“Not only are we able to make a significant difference to the children there, but the donations will also help the hospital and four other charities operating in the region who will be receiving aid thanks to Beltship’s offer to deliver.

“A huge thanks is due to all at A&P who have been proud to co-ordinate the effort, and to Beltship Management on behalf of the orphanage.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very peaceful and happy Christmas.”
