The bulker Gypsum Centennial has arrived in Freetown, Sierra Leone carrying the presents of foodstuffs, toys and clothes for the children of the All as One orphanage.

For the past three years the Gypsum Centennial has been involved in a huge transshipment trade in Sierra Leone at the port of Pepel, where she loads iron ore which is then taken to larger bulk carriers offshore for loading.

RFA Argus is currently anchored approximately five miles outside of Freetown as she continues her deployment Operation Gritlock to combat the spread of Ebola.

The UK armed forces have so far played a pivotal role in delivering the current British support as they work with the government of Sierra Leone to tackle the crisis. Using British expertise and local building contractors, the UK has committed to support 700 new beds in Ebola treatment facilities.
