Following two days of meetings in Germany between A&P Falmouth management and Hansa Heavy Lift, A&P won a contract to repair the heavy lift container vessel HHL Kobe 17,644 grt, which is currently in number 3 dry-dock.
The Chinese built ship known as a Hansa Heavy Lift P2-series (800 tons) is three years old with a lifting capacity of 800 tons. She has three cargo cranes, two with 400 tons capacity and one 180 tons.
Hansa Heavy Lift GmbH is a specialist in transporting heavy-lift, project and break-bulk cargoes around the globe. The company currently operates more than 20 multipurpose heavy-lift freighters making it one of the largest fleets in the heavy-lift and project market.
It is understood that HHL Kobe will load a heavy lift cargo in the UK before proceeding to Australia.
