The 2016 cruise ship season is a long way off but already A&P Falmouth operations manager, Captain Tony Lowe, has 14 vessels provisionally booked for next year.

Fred Olsen Cruises is scheduling six calls: three from the Boudicca, two from Braemar, and one from the Black Watch.

Boudicca, which suffered an engine room fire off the Moroccan coast, is limping back to Southampton from Tenerife where she landed all of her passengers for repatriation back to the UK. Boudicca had 784 passengers and 356 crew on board at the time of the fire.

The Mein Schiff, Europa, Europa 2, Berlin, AIDAvita and Bremen will bring large numbers of mainly German passengers, many of whom prefer short European cruises.

Europa and Europa 2 are the world’s only five star-plus ultra luxurious cruise ships. Europa has called here many times before, but Europa 2 is making her inaugural call in 2016.

“For the first time in the history of the Berlitz rating, the two ships made it into the exclusive five star-plus category. No other ships currently achieve the high standards that Europa and Europa 2 and their crews set,” said Douglas Ward, described by many as the “the world's foremost cruise expert.”
