The Royal Fleet Auxiliary Argus has sailed from the docks for New York where she will fly the flag for Britain in Fleet Week to mark the bi-centennial of the 1812 war.
Argus followed in the wake of the Finnish warship FNS Pohjanmaa which paid a courtesy visit here last week. Both ships will spend five days in New York for the celebrations and the Parade of Ships on May 24.
Argus then spends a month on the eastern seaboard visiting various ports before heading south to the West Indies on her deployment.
