The 38,000-ton cruiseship AIDAcara, a stunning young lady with the puckered red lips and the piercing blue eyes of Aida from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera written to commemorate the opening of the Suez Canal in 1871, will call here next Wednesday. She will berth on County Wharf.

The AIDA fleet’s ships are instantly recognisable worldwide by the colourful logo on the bows which takes hull art form to a new dimension.

AIDA Cruises operates and markets fascinating holidays on water to destinations such as the Mediterranean, Canaries, North and Baltic Sesa, the Caribbean and middle America.

The company, which is the German arm of P&O, is the country’s number one in terms of sales and passengers. The company consistently sets new and unusual trends for holidaying at sea.
