Falmouth port is on the up

Falmouth is the sixth busiest port in the UK in terms of deadweight tonnage calling at a port, according to a survey carried out by the world’s top shipping paper Lloyd’s List.

Felixstowe (141.6m) remains in first position followed by London (96.1m), Immingham (80.2m), Southampton (75.6m), Liverpool (60.2m) Falmouth (55.5m), Tees (55.3m) and Milford Haven (48.6m).

Lloyd’s List noted: “Falmouth may be a surprise entrant into the top UK ports – but its position reflects a combination of ships handled by three statutory harbour authorities.”
