The A&P Group has secured a four-ship contract to dry dock and repair four ships from Siem Shipping (ex-Star Reefers). The refrigerated cargo vessels Star Pride, Star Care, Star Endeavour and Star Leader will all dry-dock in Falmouth, starting with the first ship in late August.
The Japanese-built ships are less than three years old.
Siem Shipping has already entered into a contract with the well-known Russian banana charterer, the Banex Group, to provide a regular weekly service from Ecuador to St Petersburg starting in June 2012 for a period of one year.
The service will deploy seven vessels, some of which will need to undergo ice-strengthening in order to qualify for the trade.
