More than 1,700 American visitors from the cruise ship Caribbean Princess filled the town on Sunday during the ship’s day-long cruise call to the port. Fortunately the fine weather window held, making the visit a success. Many of the visitors went into town either by walking or taking the six shuttle buses laid on from the docks .
County Wharf was a hive of activity with passengers landing by tenders. Almost 40 luxury coaches took the remainder of the ship’s 2,930 passengers to various locations around west and north Cornwall.
Falmouth Cruise Ships Ambassadors, a group of local volunteers who greet and assist passengers, provided 30 people who worked from 0700 to 1700 hours to provide a warm welcome for the passengers.
