The team at the National Trust’s Glendurgan near Falmouth have lined up a creative half term for visitors with woodland crafts and celebrations of 50 years of opening.

Dave Hart, the Trust’s local ‘bodger’ (green-woodworker), will be setting up in the valley garden on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 30 from 11am to 3pm. Visitors of all ages will be able to see how he turns pieces of wood into beautiful and practical things using traditional techniques.

Dancers will take to the garden on Friday, November 1 for the final part of celebrations marking the 50 year anniversary.

The performances are at intervals, between 6pm and 9pm, with tickets available for adults at £10, children £5 and family tickets (two adults and up to three children) £25. Booking is essential on 01326 252021.

As Glendurgan closes for the winter on November 3, so the half term week offers a last opportunity for visitors to tick of more of the Trust’s ‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ including catching falling leaves, building a mini-raft and running around in the rain. Specially produced scrapbooks for families who wish to record their ’50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ are available for free at Glendurgan on a first-come-first-served basis.
