Get swept away this April as the first annual Approaching Lines Festival rolls into town from April 24 to 26.
Bringing to the Southwest a three-night extravaganza of UK film premieres, multi award-winning features, and hotly anticipated underground hits, The Approaching Lines Cinematic Surf Sessions is a celebration of the cream of UK and international surf filmmaking.
Hosted at Newquay’s state of the art Lighthouse Cinema on Thursday, April 24 and Saturday, April 26 and at The Poly in Falmouth on Friday, April 25, the festival brings the best of contemporary surfing and surf culture to the big screen.
“We’ve worked with filmmakers around the world to bring to the Southwest a hand-picked selection of the year’s most exciting surf films including a European premiere, three UK |premieres and a host of award-winning movies,” says festival director Chris Nelson.
“Across the board, the cinematography is stunning, the sound tracks are epic and the surfing pushes things to a whole new level.”
Accompanied by short films from the UK’s leading lights and talks from filmmakers and waveriders of note, plus a gallery show, this is a must attend for cinephiles and surfers alike.
Tickets are £5, available from the Lighthouse Cinema on 01637 878650 and The Poly on 01326 319461.
A limited number of evening passes are also available through the box offices which cost £8 and include entry to all the movies on your night of choice plus a complimentary beer courtesy of our friends at Rebel Brewing Company.
