Tate St Ives will be |celebrating the festive season with free entry to its Winter Festival on December 11.

The fun-filled evening invites families to make Christmas decorations at Art Base, find out more about the art on display in Work In Focus sessions and listen to local choirs helping the gallery |celebrate Christmas with festive songs.

The exhibition The Modern Lens: International Photography and the Tate collection will be on, showing the |‘glorious shutterbug days’ of photography from the 1920s to 1960s, and highlighting ‘how the |tendrils of Modernism gripped the world from the boulevards of Buenos Aires to the coves of Cornwall’ Daily Telegraph.

Get stuck into Art Base, where families will be making wax paper and melted crayon Christmas tree decorations. This free activity takes place from 4.30pm until 8pm.

Join artists Ges Wallace and Greg Humphries for in depth looks at two works currently on show in the exhibition.

Ges Wallace discusses the artists Lazlo TMoholy-Nagy and Lucia Moholy from 6pm to 6.30pm, while Greg Humphries looks at the work of Iwao Yamawaki from 7pm to 7.30pm.

Enjoy delightful singing of seasonal music in Lower Gallery 2 as the gallery hosts choirs from local schools throughout the evening followed by a performance from St Ives Combined Chapels Choire from 7.30pm.

The galleries and shop are open until 9pm, the café is open until 9pm (last orders for food 8pm).
