TAKE a break from Christmas shopping and head down to the Maritime Museum in Falmouth to enjoy a feast of festive family fun.
This weekend (December 13 and 14) from 11am to 3.30pm, it’s the museum’s annual Christmas Cracker Weekend. Meet Father Christmas, who’ll be giving out goody bags to all the good boys and girls at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Kids can also enjoy the enchanting tale of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Christmas and join the elves in Santa’s Workshop to make their very own elf hats and Christmas tree decorations.
The Trengilly Singers will be performing a selection of Christmas songs and carols from noon on Saturday, plus don’t miss your chance to climb on board Santa’s sleigh for a fantastic photo opportunity.
Once the kids break up from school, Santa’s Workshop will be open every day from December 20 to 24 and kids can follow the Lighthouse Keepers Trail, to help Mr Grinling find his lost Christmas baskets.
Then after all the Christmas|festivities, the Maritime Museum has the perfect answer for how to keep the kids entertained.
If you’re looking to get out of the house and do something |different, head to the museum from December 27 to January 4, where they’re celebrating the New Year Cornish style, with more creative craft activities, including making your own stargazy crown. All of the |activities at the Maritime Museum over the Christmas |holidays are free with your |museum entrance ticket. Just think of it as their gift to you.
