Cornwall Wildlife Trust celebrate the fifth year of its open Open Gardens scheme by unveiling this year’s gardens which feature the new, familiar and one which has never opened to the public.

Events will take place throughout the county and offer visitors the chance to see some of Cornwall’s most beautiful and diverse gardens, which range from grand acres to carefully thought out urban spaces.

This year’s Open Gardens once again starts with the stunning Pedn Billy on the Helford passage on April 26 from 2pm to 5pm. This amazing garden with stunning views broke attendance and fundraising records for a single event in 2014 with over 200 people helping to raise £1,500.

Once again it opens the season with a flourish of spring flowers, and will be ablaze with azaleas, magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias and flowering bulbs. Half of the twelve acres is ancient woodland, with paths winding down to Port Navas Creek on the Helford River and a private beach.

The Trust’s Open Gardens are also quickly gaining a reputation for their amazing home baked cakes and biscuits made by the dedicated team of volunteers that support each event.

Admission to all the gardens is £4 with under 16s free.
