VISITORS to the National Trust's Lanhydrock estate on June 14 will witness fearless souls using the power of gravity to propel themselves across the estate during the annual dilly cart race and a week later the Cornwall Multi Terrain Race Series continues with The Great Lanhydrock Run.

The ten mile estate run has fantastic scenery to spur participants on, and this year’s route has been varied slightly so that regular runners can enjoy something new. You don’t need to be an affiliated runner to take part and, if you enter in advance, you also get a t-shirt for taking part. As it is Father’s Day, runners can enjoy a well-deserved post-run meal in Lanhydrock’s restaurant and browse the gifts in the shop.

National Trust ranger, Alice Barker, said: "The dilly cart event is always great fun to watch, and it’s just one of many sporting events that are gaining popularity at Lanhydrock. Scores of people are joining the Lanhydrock Park Run every Saturday, and we also have the Great Lanhydrock Run on Midsummer Day to test people’s stamina.’
