Join South West Lakes Trust this Saturday, August 1 for a family Day of Nature at Stithians Lake.

The event, which will run from dawn til dusk, will be based at Stithians Outdoor + Active Centre where timed events will be taking place throughout the day.

Activities will include a bird ringing demonstration at 9.00am, a bird watching walk at 10.30am, bug hunting and pond dipping at 12.00pm and 2.00pm, a water safari at 3.00pm and a bat detecting walk at 8.30pm.

There is no need to book, just drop in whenever you like. The café will be open from 8.30am for breakfast and will be open throughout the day for refreshments.

There will also be kids’ crafts and activities, stands from local wildlife groups including Cornwall Bird Watching and Preservation Society, Bumblebee Conservation, Tremough Campus Biosciences, Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Cornwall Bat Group. All walks and activities will be subject to the weather and there will be a small charge for some craft activities.
