Falmouth's Oyster festival is this weekend at Event's Square. Pop down and enjoy a glass of champagne with a native oyster or two, watch some cooking demonstrations from top class chefs, listen to the live music and peruse the stalls as part of a celebration of the oyster dredging season beginning. 

Last chance to see REEF play with support acts Wolf Note and Lloyd Yates at the Guildhall, St Ives tonight. The gig will be filmed and recorded to make up their live album. 

The thrilling new musical theatre perfect for all the family, Here Be Monsters, is at The Hall for Cornwall on Saturday, October 10. The villainous Captain Cut-Throat and his fearsome crew will be setting sail through monster-infested waters in search of a mysterious island crammed with jewels and gem stones. There are two shows on Saturday, one at 11.30am and another at 14.30pm. 

A children's workshop is being held by Cornwall Wildlife Trust on Sunday where little ones will be getting creative with autumnal leaves. The Fox Club will be held in a place near Truro, and spaces are limited so booking is essential by calling: 01872 273939.

Baroque music will be played with traditional instruments in the Long Barn at Roselidden On Sunday, October 11 at 3pm by the wonderful The Heinichen Ensemble. Fabulous artwork is being exhibited in Porthleven's Old Lifeboat tomorrow, Saturday, October 10. Works of artists who have participated in a weeklong workshop with Ashley Hanson will be on display. 

Paintings by Caz Scott are being exhibited at Falmouth's Poly until Saturday. Her paintings are the fruit of extended periods spent walking and sketching in both counties, distilling the dramatic landforms and wildness of the coast and moorland.
