Pond life is being explored with the National Trust's Fox Club this week when a group of youngsters will be lead by a ranger into investigating who is eating who underneath's the water's surface.

This Pond Investigation will be lead by Wild Lizard education ranger Claire Scott at a location on the lizard between 10am and 12noon on Thursday, October 29.

Claire said: “We have had a lot of interest from local schools who have been investigating the unique natural environment of the reserve and the children have been extremely excited about the ponds, especially the newt eating dragonfly nymphs.”

The group will be looking at the bio diversity and working out the food chain among the life inside the ponds at Windmill Farm Nature Reserve.

This event, organised by Trust Lizard Horizons in association with the Wild Lizard Partnership Project, could be a muddy one. So closed toes footwear is advised.
