Cornwall's largest creative hub will be opening its doors next weekend for its annual Open Studios event. Krowji, based in Redruth, will be welcoming the public to explore the home of painters, ceramicists, jewellery makers, designers, textile artists, animators, costumers and more at its Christmas event, which runs from Friday to Sunday, December 4 to 6.

Open from 5pm-9pm on Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday, the event promises to be a spectacle of local talent which the public can peruse at their leisure.

Milly Knight, administrator and marketing co-ordinator for Krowji said: "This event sees hundreds of visitors every year and is a popular celebration of Cornish arts and culture. It's the perfect opportunity for Christmas present shopping, as many studios will be running their galleries as a shop and visitors will have a chance browse, buy and see the creative spaces in which these artists work.

"This family friendly event will offer a special festive themed trail for children, which has been created by the Krowji artists. So this year is not to be missed."

The Ingleheart Singers will start the celebrations at 5pm on Friday with complimentary mince pies and mulled wine served in the Melting Pot Café which will be open throughout the weekend. There will also be a number of workshops for children and adults during the event.

Running through the Friday evening, Engine House VFX will be holding virtual reality demonstrations where adults and children can create their own Google Cardboard and enter a new immersive world. Funk Soul Mother will also be running a tote bag print workshop on Saturday morning, from 10am- 2.30pm. On Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be able to try their hands at bookbinding with Bookshell Bindery at 11am and 2.30pm, or take part in an "elf" trail and children's lantern workshop between 11am and 3pm.
