Father Christmas will be sharing tales of Christmas past at the National Trust property, Trerice near Newquay over the next two weekends.

Staff and volunteers have been welcoming visitors to a new and very special Christmas tradition that brings the Tudor manor to life with a truly magical atmosphere. Thousands and thousands of hand-crafted gilded plaster stars and roses have been made and hung from the ceilings and at windows to form an enchanting backdrop to the sights and sounds of Christmas.

Apart from the decorations, Trerice is also offering a wide range of Christmas activities befitting of a Tudor manor, from making natural willow decorations, learning a few Tudor dance steps and singing along to the Christmas carols in the barn.

Father Christmas will story-telling each weekend at 11.30am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.15pm. All children will then take home a present.

“Lose yourself in the traditions of Christmas, and enjoy the enchanting experience of our 30 minute stories set within a beautiful backdrop of one of our Tudor rooms," said Beth. "This whole experience for young and old is a unique must see in the run up to Christmas.”

All tickets are available from reception on arrival for the times above - adults, £2.50 and children £3.50. For more information on the Christmas events, visit nationaltrust.org.uk/trerice or follow on facebook/NTTrerice and twitter@NTTrerice.
