Naomi Frears is displaying her latest artwork in an exhibition at Kestle Barton in Helston.

The artist, who works in the Porthmeor Studios in St Ives, has made a new piece of video artwork specifically for this show.

Filmed over several weeks through her studio window on Porthmeor Beach, the work observes, arranges, frames and choreographs different types of human activity and behaviour. It will be on display alongside works on paper which have been gathered in preparation for the exhibition.

In 2011, Frears spent six weeks living and working at Kestle Barton as part of the fledgling residency programme and the work she made during her stay has been central to her practice ever since.

Naomi has worked extensively in galleries and museums across Cornwall and has had various exhibits in London. The artist's work appears regularly on the cover of The London Review of Books and she is also involved with gallery education at Newlyn Art gallery and The Exchange, as well as at Tate St Ives.

Naomi Frears: New Work will be on display at Kestle Barton from May 14 to July 3, with the opening day on May 14 running from 2pm to 5pm, including an artist talk at 3pm.

This exhibition is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
