Adults interested in reconnecting with nature are invited to a free Forest School training event for a hands-on learning experience in the natural environment.

South-West based social enterprise and training agency, Nature Workshops, are organising the event as part of their range of land and water-based training opportunities.

Forest School activities will include fire-making, den-building and games, all aimed at nurturing confidence and building self-esteem while also building an understanding of woodland environments and sustainability issues.

Nature Workshops have been running popular taster sessions where people are encouraged to interact with their environment and to experience the physical, mental and social benefits of time spent outdoors, while finding out more about the organisation's learner-led training style and mentorship programme.

The event, which includes hot food around the fire, is open to all adults who are curious about what is involved in becoming an outdoor Forest School practitioner.

The Forest School training event will be held at Idless Woods near Truro on Monday, June 27 from 11am to 2pm.

Places are limited for this free event, and can be reserved by calling Nature Workshops on 01209 215211, or by emailing admin@natureworkshops.co.uk.
