Final preparations are being put in place for the Helford Passage Regatta, which takes place on Saturday.
The event will host both land and sea races, including swimming and rowing races, and everyone is welcome to attend to help raise funds for the RNLI while enjoying a day out on the beach.
The swimming races will be the first event of the day, starting at noon. During the afternoon there will also be boat races, running races, a tug of war and an RNLI display, as well as a tombola, cake and craft stalls, a raffle and face painting.
There will also be a fancy dress competition for children aged 10 and under, with the theme of heroes and heroines. This competition will be judged at approximately 1.30pm. Children aged 10 years and under can also enter the sandcastle competition.
A barbecue and beach bar will be available throughout the day, which will be rounded off with funk and blues music from Newquay-based band, The Big Sets, on the Ferryboat Inn terrace at 9pm.
The Helford Passage Regatta will take place at Helford Passage on Saturday, August 6 from 12pm.
