Compelling tales of the men, women and children who worked along the Tin Coast are waiting to be uncovered during an evening stroll with master storyteller Mark Harandon this evening.

In Close to the Edge – an adventurer’s story, the tales of those who worked on the cliffs and a mile out under the sea unfold as Mark follows in the footsteps of generations of mining men along the coast path between the mines of Levant and Botallack.

The walk will take place from 6.30pm until 10pm, with time to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake at the Botallack Count House workshop before returning to Levant as the sun sets into the ocean. Once there visitors will experience the atmospheric sights and smells of the 1840 beam engine steaming by candlelight in its cliff-top engine house.

Tickets to the walk, which is approximately four kilometres along the coast path, cost £6.50 for adults, £4 for children or £17 for families. Booking is essential and dogs on leads are welcome. The path is quite rough in places so sturdy shoes or boots are recommended.
